3. What have you learned from your audience feedback?

What I learned from: The video above

I got some unexpected analysis of my products from the two interview partcipants above. For example, they focused a lot on my poster being ‘graphic novel’ styled. Although this isn’t what i intended, it has helped me to fit my trailer with my poster and magazine cover, as they seem to have more in common after hearing what outside voices say.

They also seemed to focus on my actor for my trailer being ‘nerdy’ (which is not quite what i was going for, but they did also mention him being like a sort of explorer/documentary presenter etc. This helped me to talk more about sterotypes and how characters are presented.

It did also help me to find out how effective my products where, as for the most part it was their first time watching it, and they onlt watched it ONCE. This meant they could try and detrmine it as any first time audience would.

They helped me to point out where I went wrong (and how i could justify my ‘mistakes’) and where maybe my genre wasn’t clearly established, and where ideas conflicted.

Amazingly, they helped me be more specific with my particular target audience. For example, in my poster they identified things I didn’t notice such as Batman and Simon Pegg (who are on my poster) being ‘nerdy’ linking with my film and character also being ‘nerdy’

Luckily, they didn’t agree with each other on everything, so I got more than one response.

What I learned from: Polls

Polls helped me mainly with my poster. For example, I asked what people thought was the best poster, and from that my style and colour scheme was chosen. This meant i could create a poster based on what my target audience wanted (sort of 15-19 Y-O)

Polls also helped me establish if my chosen genre was a good choice (which I think from the results, it was) becuas my target audience decided on what their favourite genre of horror was.

What I learned from: Facebook

rather than posting my products on FB for people to ‘like’ etc, i asked people personaly via it. I asked them just to have a quick look at my blog and respond ‘honestly’ to what they thought of my products. I got responses such as ‘bold’ and ‘eye catching’ as well as ‘conflicting’ and ‘unclear at points’.
